I didn't know it at the time, but reflecting on it, this was the first red flag symptomatic of Family Guy going downhill.
By the end of this "gag," I was literally resting my head in my hand and saying out loud, "That's it?" This is the correspondent of me asking Seth MacFarlane in person to say something funny, and instead he pulls down his pants and drawers and takes a dump in front of me. When I was first introduced to Stewie, I became aware of the evil aura that surrounded him, in addition his intelligence is far more superior than any other toddler. When it comes to sending a message or just being preachy, I believe that both sides of the coin should be presented instead of one. Too bad Family Guy forgot to address how atheists are the least trusted people in the world. Though such songs were often full of cliches and pretty vapid, I have a soft spot for ones that are composed well musically, even if the lyrics are not particularly strong. I was relaxing in my room, enjoying the benefits of being free from school for a good three months.
For those of you who are not major fans, James Woods had two guest appearances on the show; James Woods being the lead actor in the television series Shark and of course lending his voice to the delightful character Hades in Disney's Hercules.
I even enjoyed a couple of episodes on the first three seasons in which they went to live action.
Back in the first three seasons, Meg was a normal insecure teenage girl who was trying to find her place in the social realm of high school as well as disassociate herself with guys of the nerd kind. Look at Neil Patrick Harris: he's gay but he plays the most straight, masculine guy I've ever seen on TV.
That was the beauty of the first couple of seasons of Family Guy, it was completely comedic and it's moral at the end of every episode was very universal. There is something I find aesthetically pleasing, I guess, about hearing good music at the end of a film I like (and even some I don't so much) played over the rolling list of names. I am completely the wrong voice to sing it; I wrote it for a Grace Slick-style female vocal, which it sorely misses (if anyone knows a Grace Slick-style singer, please let me know!). Although the real question was how to preoccupy myself for the night: summer reading meant certain slumber, all the video games I owned at the time were beaten, which left no other choice but to channel surf. In his first guest appearance, James Woods replaces Brian as Peter's BFF, and then becomes crazy jealous when Peter and Brian make amends.
This is one of those moments that question my intelligence as a human being, because I know (as many fans do) that Family Guy is better than this.
Recently, one of their gimmicks was having a cast members introduce the television audience to Mr. You'd think with Family Guy getting more popular and money they could afford to hire more writers, who, oh I don't know, could come up with something far more creative than this? Meg's problem ranged from having her dad pose as a high schooler to joining a cult of suicidal teenagers. All I ask is if Family Guy wants to do politics or even some preaching, then take note from Scrubs (not the new series). As with many things I have done, I never completed the full script of that idea, but I did compose some of the music: the tracks and partial tracks I already posted, and also a 1980s synth-power-pop-rock style song that most movies of the era seemed to have to play at key points, often over the end credits. The film was pretty much mid-80s junk, and the song is commercial pop through and through, and -- though it was very popular -- was criticized for being so at the time (those who remember Jefferson Airplane from the 1960s might view this song as a nadir and wonder what the heck happened to those guys).
So, because this song was supposed to be the end credits song of the film I am imagining, I decided to make up an imaginary credits list instead of another picture video.
As I switched over to one of cable television's greatest nighttime programs, [adult swim], they announced the premiere of Family Guy at 11:30pm. This time, James Woods steals Peter Griffin's identity, which allows Peter to pretend to be James Woods and ruin his acting career.
I could picture it now, the writers sitting around Seth McFarlane, they finish reading the script and a lone voice says, "Wait a minute, we already did this in a previous episode, we need to have something fresh." At which point Seth MacFarlane stands up, ponders for a moment, grabs a pen, and jams it into the writer's eye. This Family Guy experience is like a scientologist trying to convert you to scientology: the first time it's hilarious because you know scientology is a cult that solely wants your money.
In essence, Meg Griffin was a fully developed character who had a major role in every other episode. Mila realizes her schedule is overbooked so she decides to consult with Seth MacFarlane about minimizing her role but still being part of the cast. Well as Family Guy produced more episodes, it was inevitable that the lead characters would show more dynamics. Unlike The Simpsons, in which Matt Groening pokes fun at Republicans but knows when to quit, Family Guy beats you over the head with its political messages and jokes to the point where you feel like saying, "I get it, all conservatives are stupid, could you please be funny again?" I feel like Family Guy has become that professor at college.
In Scrubs, they handled the topic of the Iraq War so well that even I wanted to give Bill Callahan and Emmy myself. This is the song for that movie, expressing the feeling Abby has in rediscovering the family she thought was lost. But compared to a lot of the over-sampled music from today, it sounds pretty bright and fresh, and has an appealing beat, I would say. I may not have been thinking ahead to how small the image would be on YouTube and elsewhere, so I apologize for that.

It looks like this time Peter and James are going to go at each other; possibly another epic battle, or maybe a beneficial resolve? First time it happened, I reacted with a simple, "What?!" And then I laughed it off because I knew it was Family Guy. Currently, Meg Griffin doesn't have any major roles, or is treated like a secondary character; she's become a background character who stands there and is limited to one line an episode. Seth, in his passive-aggressive wisdom, decides to turn Meg's character into something bland as punishment for Mila having more important things to do than being a voice actor. You know, that professor, the one who speaks his or her mind about everything except the subject of the course, and if you say anything else that differs from their views you'd be lucky enough to end up with a B-. Of course Hollywood wouldn't recognize the episode because it doesn't follow their own agenda.
I also wanted to find a video clip to start the sequence, but I discovered that they charge ungodly amounts of money to buy even 10 second clips, and I am far too cheap to shell out for that, so a still image it was! Being of sound person with nothing better to do, I decided to stay tuned to see whether [adult swim] had found something good, or another overrated show that shouldn't be on air (example: Aqua Teen Hunger Force).
Of course someone thought this was so hysterical that it should become a running gag (and whoever you are I have a baseball bat with your name on it) because it appeared in a couple more episodes.
In essence, Meg Griffin has become an overused gag: whether it's someone insulting her or farting in her general vicinity.
Glad you asked, because if you remember Family Guy's Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, there's a hilarious scene in which Stewie forces his future self to have sex with one of his female coworkers. So please Family Guy staff, do yourselves a favor and remember what made you what you are today--your loyal fans. Instead of focusing on Stewie and his shenanigans with the cast of Star Trek (like FOX advertised about), the episode focused about all the wonders of being an atheist. At first, it was like a dream come true, but like being in a relationship with a crazy person, eventually the fun stops and you're one night away from making a run for it. The creek was rising and the fish were a bit sluggish, but I was able to tempt a few wild browns to hit my Yozuri stick bait. I don't question why, but I will say that the Berkley Trout Worm in a PINK or ORANGE color will usually get you a few bites. With that being said, I have created my own Pink Worm that has enabled me to land many trout, both wild and stocked.
So, I am sorry for that.A Now, when the power is out for 7 days and the clean-up effort at your house is over, you need a few hours to unwind. A few local streams were scheduled to be stocked with trout-- Manatawny Creek, Hay Creek and Tulpehocken Creek.
I should be in very good company this year with my best friend Mark and a college buddy named Mark joining in the fun.
I managed a few smallmouths and had a nice brown follow my 3-inch stickbait for about 15 yards. It was pretty cool, the water was clear and you could see the fish slash and slash at the stickbait. Can't wait to fish all the local streams, as they all will have a new look and feel to them.
I have no idea what Erie will look come late October, early November, but I am hoping they get some serious rain up there. All in all we landed 8 species of fish: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Redbreast Sunfish, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Fallfish and a Crappie.
She looks at me with a absolutely no freakn way look and goes, so daddy, How much money do I have to pay you.
There is no better way to cool down in the summer heat than wet wading and catching some fish.
Smallies, Largemouth Bass, Redbreast Sunfish, Bluegill and a White Perch were the fish I brought to hand. The temps during the day were brutal and the skeeters made me pay for attempting to fish Cherry Run.
I only fished where some cool tributary water emptied into Penns.Saturday was tricky with a few bugs in the air. Sunday evening was reverse fashion -- Isos then BWOs.I got a half-decent picture of a Iso stuck in the shuck. The fish took a CDC Sulphur pattern -- it was DARK, no light at all when the fish took the fly.
I stayed off Penns during the heat of the day-- it was 90 degrees in the afternoon on both days. I made an attempt to fish Cherry Run and landed 2 brookies in short order on my Moth pattern. The sportsman then proceeds to tell me that he is going to cross the creek and kick my BLEEPITY BLEEP.
Spoke to the gentleman again, with Ronnie explaining that the area is posted and the signs are on the road.

They are easy to see too, especially when the wings are made of CDC.A I won't be out fishing again any time soon. If you want to wet a line--give me a shout and I'll do my best to put you on some fish.A Trout fishing locally will cease with water temps hovering around 70 degrees.
Big Spring Creek, Letort, Yellow Breeches, Big Fishing Creek or Spring Creek are some of the streams that are fishable in the summer. We can also hike along some cool mountain creeks in search of native brook trout or wild brown trout. Vinny caught a Smallmouth Bass on a worm and Zoe landed a nice-sized Brown Trout on a crayfish lure. I'll probably be fishing with a friend on Sunday evening or taking the rugrats to drown some worms!!! A Sunday, I was able to fish a local Class A water and noticed many Blue-Winged Olive spinners.
I managed one fish landed, one fish missed and one fish lost before I had to run to the truck. Best trick tonight was to cast down and across and inch an emerger back to the shore, pausing it at spots were a fish just rose. I made my cast---the fish slid out from under the brush---he sat in a lane with his mouth open waiting for my fly---with ease, he swallowed the fly. No wild trout today, but the Rainbows were very colored up with beautiful pink fins and the Browns looked like they have been living in the stream for years.
Thursday was brutal where I saw creeks that were in perfect shape one minute, turn into Willy Wonka within' two hours. I volunteered a few hours Sunday morning with the A Great Day Outdoors fellas, Roger and Bob who help put together the Bob and Jeff Miller Trout Fishing Clinic, which is a mentoring program for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The fish were provided by Mike's Tattoo and Body Piercing that is located in Reading, PA. I helped a few kids land some trout and was able to see many folks that I have not seen in a few years. We had a great time and found some really neat critters and managed to catch a fish or two.
We caught a good number of wild brown trout and missed many more. The slower pools had fish sipping in Little Yellow Stoneflies. Plenty of yardwork to make the little woman happy, drive happy little woman to her mother's house and call your best friend to go fish a stream you have not fished in about 15 years.
Saw a huge Barred Owl fly up the stream and hang out in a tree for a little bit before he flew elsewhere.
He launched them up out of the water and onto the dirt bank like the bass fisherman do on tv.
After I saw him boot his 4th fish in about 20 minutes, he goes: That's what I came here for. Two-- a stickbait--a Yozuri Pin's Minnow is my favorite-- is also tough to beat during cold, high and dirty water conditions. Three -- My favoritefor fly fishing is a 2 fly rig that consists of a bigger and brighter glowbug with a Green Weenie dropped off of it. If there are rainbows around, they will hammer a nicely presented egg pattern pretty much any time of the year. Local Class A waters are running at agood rate and are still on the cold side.Trout season opens next weekend for SE PA waters.
Headed to the Little Lehigh and when I got there the lot was full and anglers were top to bottom. Fished the quarry hole and managed toland a few bluegill and a good number of smaller Largemouth Bass. Most ofthe bass were taken on smaller ice spoons tipped with waxies. With the heatwave we are in, not sure how much longer the ice will be around.
Drilling through the ice with my Nils 8 inch ice auger was too much for my shoulders.Hey, I have an 8 inch Nils Ice Auger for sale !!!
The PFBC was on the ice and it was the first time in over 10 years that I had my license checked. We started the day using tungsten jigs, then switched to shrimpos and did some sight fishing. I don't question why, but I will say that the Berkley Trout Worm in a PINK or ORANGE color will usually get you a few bites.
Can't wait to fish all the local streams, as they all will have a new look and feel to them.
