HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund and Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund Joint Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2013 was held at the Central Government Offices on 11 April 2013. Two study trips to Pearl River Delta (PRD) including Macau, Shenzhen and Guangzhou were successfully held by CityU SCOPE on 9-10 May 2013 and 3 June 2013 under the Scheme.
The study trips aimed to provide students with deeper understanding about the economic, cultural and historical aspects of PRD. Students got wonderful opportunities to appreciate the stunning world heritages in Macau curated by Architect from Macau Cultural Heritage Department and broaden their horizons on the tourism development in Macau over the visit to Macau Institute of Tourism. Students thoroughly enjoyed the trips and the featured lectures at Jinan University and Shenzhen University.
There were more than hundred applications from students who applied for the Dato' Lee Chong Wei KDU Education Group Scholarship 2012. Dato' Lee Chong Wei, the KDU Education Group brand ambassador, has been an inspirational icon to many, despite the age of different generations.
About the Scholarship:The scholarships are awarded to applicants who are able to demonstrate their determination to achieve their dreams.

The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) held a ceremony on 27 April to mark the inauguration of the HKIEd Foundation, a high-level platform established with the prime objective of engaging various sectors of the community to advance the quality of teacher education, learning and teaching, and research at the Institute. As Guest of Honour, Chief Secretary for Administration Mrs Carrie Lam addressed the ceremony, which was well-attended by over 350 friends and supporters of the Institute, including leading figures from the business and education sectors, government officials and consuls general, in addition to staff, scholarship recipients and their parents. Officiating at the ceremony, Mr Pang Yiu-kai, Chairman of HKIEd Council and HKIEd Foundation, stressed the importance of education in honing the competitiveness of Hong Kong. HKIEd President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung thanked donors for their continual support, which he said had gone a long way towards furthering the Institute’s mission of nurturing professional educators and future leaders in Hong Kong. On the same occasion, the Institute staged its Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2015 to recognise students with outstanding performance in various areas. It also served to fulfill the aim of exposing students to appreciate the cultural development between PRD and Hong Kong and to explore their potential development in the region. They also gained a great amount of new insights on the prevailing economic and cultural development of PRD through visits and talked to professionals in some of the most influential companies such as Tencent, Yantian International Container Terminals as well as leading cultural sites like Redtroy, Xinyi International Club, City of Design. Lingnan University held the Awards Presentation Ceremony 2012 today with Dr Alex Lee Ye-lick, Chairman of Lingnan University Alumni Association (HK) Ltd and Court Member of Lingnan University, as the officiating guest of honour.
He has been through thick and thin, faced many challenges and obstacles, but his strong spirit and will made him one of many that stood out. Scholarships are awarded annually to students with outstanding academic achievements, outstanding leadership or service records, active participation in extracurricular activities or extraordinary talent displayed in the areas such as the creative arts and sports. This year, 445 awards and scholarships totalling about HK$9.5 million were presented to more than 300 students in recognition of their outstanding academic and personal achievements. Shall these students enjoy the success of the award, towards achieving their goals and dreams. He has received several scholarships during his study at Lingnan, including Lingnan Education Organization Ambassadors Programme a€“ Leadership and Service Scholarship, The Best Economics Student Scholarship and The Excellent Social Sciences Award.
