Caution: being optimistic just because she’s your best friend, and you love her, can be very dangerous.
Let me tell you – there may be nothing more annoying than a friend who spends the time saying “Oh, well when I dated so-and-so he did this-and-that and then it ended this-way, so you should be careful”. Disclaimer: all things are invalid if your friend is a hot mess and just needs someone to talk to.
As soon as we become an exclusive item, that normal and healthy nurturing becomes bossy and controlling. If you are raised with a doting mother, they tend to take care of their sons and daughters. Do you have a tendency to smother him with love and affection, to the point where he needs time away? Your boyfriend is not seeking someone to nag at him or yell at him for what he is not doing. Give him the chance to make his own mistakes and learn from them. Believe me, he will appreciate you more later on for that. What You'll Find HereResources for college advice, tips on college life and everything you need when going to college. Advice?Hey everyone, I really need some advice.I am currently in a relationship with my ex boyfriend. As someone who is responsible for relationship blogging a few times a month, I like to think I’ve gotten decent at it. It can be very dangerous to tiptoe around the truth in order to spare your friends’ feelings.

This is one of the worst things you can do when giving advice, or just being a friend in general.
A resource for advice, tips and solutions to everything you'll encounter when going to college. Information on college relationships, student loans and college admissions to student credit cards and grants.
It’s easy to say to ignore the cheating issue, but it’s pretty important.Trust issues are probably the main reason LDRs fail.
But there’s nothing worse than when that friend (who you thought you could trust) isn’t helpful, or worse, doesn’t want you to succeed (if this is the case, get a new friend). Being on the outside of a relationship can also be very eye-opening: you realize how crazy girls sound when they freak out about their boyfriend sending one-word texts and how they think he’s going to break up with them (true story- this actually happened). So please, look at it with fresh eyes and stop trying to force your experience upon everyone else. Even if you’re single, try to do your best to be happy for your friend and not be internally pleased (even a little bit) that her perfect relationship is having struggles. But if a friend comes to you for advice, they probably would like a reaction, followed by some words of wisdom. Sometimes that protection can become overbearing.  If you are like most kids, that tends to wear thin and at some point you want to distance yourself as far away from that as possible. If some of you grew up without a mother, it may ill that void that comes from within, but he will get sick of it.
What he needs from you is love, support and independence. If he really wants to be treated like a grownup than you need to give him the space to achieve that goal. Right now, you’re angry and hurt over thefact that he’s been too busy to call and text you as often as you think he should…eventually, when things slow down and he adjusts to college life, you’re going to be angry and hurt overhim neglecting you to do who knows what…It sucks, but he’s going to be partying, and if he’spartying, he’s surrounded by other girls. When you take your emotions out of it, you realize that not everything is the end of the world and you can give some solid advice.

And that is why you need to be careful that you are not taking on the traits of your mother, and not even realizing it. But after a couple years she finally moved there.Another was my good friend who started dating this guy who was from Spain studying inCalifornia. She might not be happy about it at the moment, but she will eventually see that you’re doing it for her own good and be grateful. But otherwise, do the best you can to be the objective and honest with them- they’ll thank you in the long run.
If he begs for you back and promises to call more often and make you feellike a more important part of his life, then give him a second chance.
And he texts but it’s like an hour between every text.I know it’s not his fault he’s busy, but I feel like if he really wanted to talk to me he would find acouple minutes of free time during the day when he isn’t doing anything and call me up orsomething. I was wondering if it would be difficult to make our relationship work and advice on keeping this a good, healthy relationship. Plus, there’s random stuff like how we used to text “good morning” to each otherright when woke up but now he doesn’t do that.
And I remember mentioning to him that I couldvisit him at camp, but he never really brought it up again. I don’t know… he definitely likes meand all, but I don’t know if I can be in an LDR (which usually require a bit of planning and workto keep strong) if he doesn’t know how to plan (which he has admitted to) or anything. And, as of late, I’ve gotten mad at him for being like this and then I instantly retract it, feelingawful and stupid about my demandingness (if that’s a word). I feel like if I keep doing this he’ll get really annoyedand want to break up or something.I think a key difference in us is that I get emotional really easily (not just crying, I mean) aboutstuff, like really happy and excited or annoyed or passionate about some topic, and he isn’treally like that at all. So even if he is in absolute love with me, he won’t hop on a plane to go propose tome or whatever.SO MY QUESTION IS: should I break up with him?
