I've read The Killer Book of True Crime, which was excellent as well as the equally fascinating The Killer Book of Serial Killers. That said, this book was very entertaining but fell a little flat for me compared to the other two.

It had great informative stories, however I was disappointed that instead of being a book of long time unsolved cases, the majority of cases it covered were cases that went X amount of years before being solved. Although they dedicate a chapter that has roughly a paragraph or two on several actual cold cases, such as the zodiac killer and Jon Bonnet Ramsey.
Also, as others have stated there was a bit of a flow issue, in the other novels there wold be quick facts or story's no longer than a paragraph long breaking up the text with in the chapter. I plan on reading the Killer Book of Infamous Murder as soon as I have the money to order it. I checked out his other book which is about serial killers.Olivia Shackelford Feb 12, 2015The Killer Book of Cold Cases by Tom Philbin is a book detailing some of the most famous cold cases in history and how they were solved (the ones that were solved anyway).

Lizzie was let go and now it seems she may have been the suspect the police needed to look into.

The book covers these and cases like these and the mistakes the murderers made that finally closed the cases. This book was really interesting and it's cool to see how far crime fighting technology has come in the last hundred years.
Personally the most interesting part to me in this book is the why behind why the murderers and arsonists decided to commit their crimes. Ashlee Nov 03, 2015This was a nice little book, the cases covered were explained nicely and I liked the included theories on the unsolved ones. Thomas Nov 02, 2015Whilst on holiday in Kos, at around 3am, I was woken by my girlfriend - stressed and miserable - prowling the hotel room with a flip-flop trying to kill a swarm of mosquitos that were attacking us in our sleep and preventing her from getting comfortable in the slightest. Mr Philbin's list of situations that equate to rape covers almost all human interactions and he gives his qualifications as having once written an episode of Hawaii 5-0 where someone deliberately explodes a volcano. The rampant idiocy of this book kept my girlfriend suitably distracted from the swarm of mosquitos until breakfast. For that, and that alone, this book gets two stars.Cortney Ross Mar 21, 2016This book explores different cold cases from over the years.
So I was a little disappointed since the title lead me to believe they would all be unsolved cold cases. I am a fanatic for forensics and have a true passion to learn more about it, and hopefully work in the field one day.
